Hello Me...
There is something about being surrounded by beautiful, meaningful things that inspires me. When I was a young single mom, I couldn’t afford expensive home decor so I would shop at thrift stores to cover the empty walls or to add some personality to a room. 99 cents here, a few dollars there, I could make my house feel like a home with $10.00 on a good shop day. Then I started to step into antique stores, consignment shops and my world started to change. It was then that I would find rare, one-of-a-kind items. These items all had a story (not that I didn’t find some gems at Thrift Stores, because I totally did), but these items filled the walls from top to bottom. I would spend hours in these stores, it became a hobby, an obsession.
For my entire career as a storyteller, Publicist, and a branding agent, I have always crafted, created and designed stories knowing the importance of how they could affect moods, change emotions and become deep, memorable conversations. This is exactly how I curate my home, office, stores, bars and yes my showroom. I’m very excited to share finds from my travels around the globe and help you find the perfectly curated wall, room or item from my collections.
My journey in life (like all humans really) has been a roller coaster. Sometimes that ride has been wild and fun, but not always smooth and often a bit nauseating. From teenage pregnancy, raising 3 kids on my own (mostly) and the many deaths of people that I have loved to escaping a domestic violence relationship and finding whom I thought was the love of my life only to be betrayed after 11 years and faced with a divorce, I have lost myself many, many times. It is through curation, storytelling and constantly seeking personal growth that I have found my true self. I now wake up every day and make the choice to be happy as well as to explore in my life. Now, 49 years old, I have found my deep passion, my true self and purpose. The name “Hello Starr” simply means- hello to my passions, hello to living my best life, hello me…Hello Starr.
